All wrapped up

The winter is still with us. Great news for scarf lovers, which means we can still maintain our style while keeping warm.
With the mornings’ cold and the evenings chilly, it is far from time to hang up our scarves! But is there ever a time to really hang them up?

The most popular accessory we wear, seen on one in 5 people everywhere you go.  It is worn in many ways.

There are hundreds of types of scarves. From plain to patterned, thick and wooly to thin and silky, brightly colored or simply dark, chic and simple.  Scarves are worn by many and in so many ways, and surprisingly throughout the year.  There are an array of designs, designers, patterns, colours, fabrics and textures.

Most of us will simply wrap it around our necks to keep us warm in no particular fashion, some of us will spend a good few minutes making sure it is correctly placed and the ends hang exactly where we want them, using it as our main accessory to compliment our outfit. It may be more of a fashion statement than purposeful,  or for others it may just hang loosely with no care at all.

Many cultures wear scarves as part of their daily dress, a necessity to cover their hair, and shadow their face to allow women to be judged by their morals not their appearance.  Many of these scarves can be bought from stores that we all shop at, some are beautifully adorned for special occasions in jewels and crystals, sequins and beautiful embroidery that are the result of hours of hand embroidery.
Sarongs are just a larger form of scarf.  Brightly colored spring/ summer scarves that can be doubled up, wrapped around you in a way that creates a beautiful cover-up on the beach over your swimsuit or bikini, and your smaller neckerchiefs can be used to adorn your beach bag or handbag, a perfect colorful or patterned accessory to add that something unique to your handbag.

A scarf is one of our most essential accessory pieces. It can add to your outfit create the centerpiece through it's boldness in color, pattern or fabric, or it can just sit peacefully around your neck serving a purpose.

At KK we love scarves, they are our passion, our most fabulous accessory that we spend hours in researching, choosing and buying from over seas to bring to you in a huge array of fabulous modern designs, fabrics and color ways. We still bring In the classics, but love to add modern twists every season.

So next time you go out and buy a scarf, make it big, make it bold, make it your statement piece, that little something extra to add to your outfit, simple but effective and far more fabulous and special than you ever really realized before.

Dedicated follower of fashion

This week we have been shopping abroad, researching and looking for new key pieces for the up and coming spring/summer seasons, for our stockists and our own stores.

The great thing about new products is that:

a) They are new, so we are obviously excited about them, yippee another excuse to go shopping
b) We get to update our style every season

Every true fashionista is always looking for different pieces to add to their wardrobe, be it through their clothing, handbags or accessories.

Most of us will look for twists in the old classics in different fabrics, colours and styles to update and evolve their wardrobe every season, whilst maintaining their own unique style.

Magazines week in and week out introduce us to new products “must have buy of the week/day /month”, but how many of these do we actually go out and buy?

What is the latest craze?  that appears to be talked about in every magazine and paper this week?  Pajamas pants?

This is a trend that we don't necessarily have to follow.  If you can put on a pair of “pajamas pants” then you should be putting on a fabulous pair of fitting jeans/trousers.

The problem with this new trend is that it encourages us to be lazier in our attitude.

We all know that as soon as we are in our pajamas, the sofa, a tub of ice cream and a good film calls.  You certainly would not want to leave the house.  No one is encouraged to be full of energy and smart. You will be in Sunday mode, everyday.   This trend is good if that is your general attitude and want to be casual, this is not for the chicer ladies of us all.  What next?  Christian Louboutin 5 inch style slippers?  (Actually they may be worth a buy).   If you want to wear pajamas wear pajamas. If you want to wear jeans, wear jeans.

There is no need to combine both, we all know comfort and true fashion don’t always go hand in hand and no one is telling us we have to follow every new trend.

Only follow a trend and  accessorize when you are comfortable and feel that you can update or add to your style effortlessly.

Of course if our purses would allow we would be buying every week without fail, we believe here at KK that we all work hard enough to treat ourselves to something at least once a week, even if it is just to a coffee out with your girlfriend’s or a fabulous new piece of statement jewellery.

We work to live, not live to work, and should enjoy the fruits of our labour.

The greatest thing about being a supplier of fabulous accessories is the simplicity and cost effective way we can simply change our style instantly with the most basic of products, like a necklace pair of earrings, belt or scarf.

Affordable, small enough to make a difference, yet simple and understated, just what a perfect accessory should add to your already amazing outfit.

So remember, if it doesn’t make you feel fabulous you shouldn’t buy it, wear it or even own it.

Bring out your wild side

Here at Karma Kameleon we are not shy of our love for leopard print, from shoes through to beautiful scarves, if we can find a fabulous way to show off our wild side, we will.

We have hand picked the most beautiful scarves for this season and will continue to do so each season as it is a look that proves timeless.

The greatest thing about animal print is that it never dates; every year designers will bring out fabulous new ways of using leopard or zebra print.  Many fashion houses such as Roberto Cavalli, Dolce and Gabanna and even Marc Jacobs have their own individual print specific to their label, which carries through their whole collection year after year but used in hundreds of different ways.

Animal print  comes in so many forms, from a beautiful statement necklace (as shown below) shoes, scarves, coats, hats and bags.

Animal print is the perfect way to add that little bit of 'fabulous' to your outfit, even if it is just a beautiful scarf it shows you too can have the edge like every other true fashionista.

So bring out your wild side and pick your favorite pieces from our new collection today.

Layer, Layer, Layer.

Winter is now upon us, frosty dark mornings when we rise and go to work and cold evenings we leave.

The days of glorious sunshine are far behind us.  What does this mean for us fashionistas?

Its means great winter fashion trends to look out for, big chunky warm knits, beautiful soft leather boots, leather jackets and hats, scarves and gloves.

It also means and most importantly keeping warm and layering without losing your unique style.

Although we tend to cover up , it doesn't have to mean wearing top to toe black as most of us are prone to do.

Winter can be the perfect time to show your still on top of trends whilst keeping warm and adding a splash of colour .

The most effective way this can be done is  in the accessories you choose, nothing screams style more than a fabulous brightly coloured scarf clutch or piece of jewellery. This is also the most cost effective way to update your outfit throughout the seasons.

Wearing a scarf or snood with a fabulous brooch or statement necklace can instantly update your wardrobe and keep you remaining warm, stylish and glam.  Change your scarf colour base for different effect or add a multi coloured/patterned scarf altogether. In just one item your outfit is fabulous.

A beautiful buy we love here is our leopard print scarf with red and gold tones alongside our beautiful boleros that come in black, cream ,grey and camel, and our capes in black red cream and beige. We have added a brooch to add some glamour, you of course can add too or leave as simple as you like.

During these blustery days most of us will tend to stick to thick black tights under a dress or skirt teamed with boots, why not try adding a pair of patterned tights under your winter dress for maximum style effect, teamed with your leather boots and leather jacket you are looking fabulous and ready to go.

Glam, stylish and warm.

Karma Kameleon- from the beginning

Continually being asked “where did you get that from?”, was Gabby’s inspiration to create 'Gabbywears' which boasts scarves, jewellery, shoes, belts, wallets, handbags, hats and headbands. Providing an exclusive collection of popular pieces at an affordable price, which appealed to all ages.

Gabby has always loved fashion, especially accessories and when Gabby would return with personal shopping from overseas business trips, complements on her accessories were always received. Her entrepreneurial spirit ignited, Gabby realised there was a growing demand for affordable and catwalk-look fashion pieces. At the gift fair in February 2005 a small range of necklaces (12 in total) were introduced alongside her homewares range. Being well received, this paved the way for the launch of gabbyWears five months later at the Melbourne gift fair.

Today 'GabbyWears' brings you 100's of new pieces each year. The ranges are the result of many months of sourcing, designing, tweaking and refining.  Stockists are throughout  Australia and New Zealand.

Seeing the success of this Gabby decided to open her own retails stores and not just remain a stockist.

Karma Kameleon had its first store open in Mildura in 2004, Gabby's home town, further stores in Bendigo and Byron bay were then also opened which are a huge success.

Why Karma Kameleon?   Gabby not only believes in every shop having its own"Karma" but "Kameleon" was how she could best be described, ever changing and evolving with new trends.

Which is why we encourage you to join us in our stores, feel the "Karma" for yourself and become the "Kameleon" that we all should embrace and enjoy being in this journey of fashion.
