All wrapped up

The winter is still with us. Great news for scarf lovers, which means we can still maintain our style while keeping warm.
With the mornings’ cold and the evenings chilly, it is far from time to hang up our scarves! But is there ever a time to really hang them up?

The most popular accessory we wear, seen on one in 5 people everywhere you go.  It is worn in many ways.

There are hundreds of types of scarves. From plain to patterned, thick and wooly to thin and silky, brightly colored or simply dark, chic and simple.  Scarves are worn by many and in so many ways, and surprisingly throughout the year.  There are an array of designs, designers, patterns, colours, fabrics and textures.

Most of us will simply wrap it around our necks to keep us warm in no particular fashion, some of us will spend a good few minutes making sure it is correctly placed and the ends hang exactly where we want them, using it as our main accessory to compliment our outfit. It may be more of a fashion statement than purposeful,  or for others it may just hang loosely with no care at all.

Many cultures wear scarves as part of their daily dress, a necessity to cover their hair, and shadow their face to allow women to be judged by their morals not their appearance.  Many of these scarves can be bought from stores that we all shop at, some are beautifully adorned for special occasions in jewels and crystals, sequins and beautiful embroidery that are the result of hours of hand embroidery.
Sarongs are just a larger form of scarf.  Brightly colored spring/ summer scarves that can be doubled up, wrapped around you in a way that creates a beautiful cover-up on the beach over your swimsuit or bikini, and your smaller neckerchiefs can be used to adorn your beach bag or handbag, a perfect colorful or patterned accessory to add that something unique to your handbag.

A scarf is one of our most essential accessory pieces. It can add to your outfit create the centerpiece through it's boldness in color, pattern or fabric, or it can just sit peacefully around your neck serving a purpose.

At KK we love scarves, they are our passion, our most fabulous accessory that we spend hours in researching, choosing and buying from over seas to bring to you in a huge array of fabulous modern designs, fabrics and color ways. We still bring In the classics, but love to add modern twists every season.

So next time you go out and buy a scarf, make it big, make it bold, make it your statement piece, that little something extra to add to your outfit, simple but effective and far more fabulous and special than you ever really realized before.

Dedicated follower of fashion

This week we have been shopping abroad, researching and looking for new key pieces for the up and coming spring/summer seasons, for our stockists and our own stores.

The great thing about new products is that:

a) They are new, so we are obviously excited about them, yippee another excuse to go shopping
b) We get to update our style every season

Every true fashionista is always looking for different pieces to add to their wardrobe, be it through their clothing, handbags or accessories.

Most of us will look for twists in the old classics in different fabrics, colours and styles to update and evolve their wardrobe every season, whilst maintaining their own unique style.

Magazines week in and week out introduce us to new products “must have buy of the week/day /month”, but how many of these do we actually go out and buy?

What is the latest craze?  that appears to be talked about in every magazine and paper this week?  Pajamas pants?

This is a trend that we don't necessarily have to follow.  If you can put on a pair of “pajamas pants” then you should be putting on a fabulous pair of fitting jeans/trousers.

The problem with this new trend is that it encourages us to be lazier in our attitude.

We all know that as soon as we are in our pajamas, the sofa, a tub of ice cream and a good film calls.  You certainly would not want to leave the house.  No one is encouraged to be full of energy and smart. You will be in Sunday mode, everyday.   This trend is good if that is your general attitude and want to be casual, this is not for the chicer ladies of us all.  What next?  Christian Louboutin 5 inch style slippers?  (Actually they may be worth a buy).   If you want to wear pajamas wear pajamas. If you want to wear jeans, wear jeans.

There is no need to combine both, we all know comfort and true fashion don’t always go hand in hand and no one is telling us we have to follow every new trend.

Only follow a trend and  accessorize when you are comfortable and feel that you can update or add to your style effortlessly.

Of course if our purses would allow we would be buying every week without fail, we believe here at KK that we all work hard enough to treat ourselves to something at least once a week, even if it is just to a coffee out with your girlfriend’s or a fabulous new piece of statement jewellery.

We work to live, not live to work, and should enjoy the fruits of our labour.

The greatest thing about being a supplier of fabulous accessories is the simplicity and cost effective way we can simply change our style instantly with the most basic of products, like a necklace pair of earrings, belt or scarf.

Affordable, small enough to make a difference, yet simple and understated, just what a perfect accessory should add to your already amazing outfit.

So remember, if it doesn’t make you feel fabulous you shouldn’t buy it, wear it or even own it.
